I Have Tourette's but Tourette's Doesn't Have Me: Dispelling the Myth One Child at a Time. DVD   2005

A HBO and the Tourette Syndrome Association presentation: a documentary that dispels the myths of Tourette Syndrome through the experiences of young people. In every school in America, it's likely that at least one child may have Tourette Syndrome. Many of their parents, teachers and those close to them are unaware. these children are often stigmatized and almost always misunderstood.
Extra DVD features include a variety of resources for educators, families and children interested in learning more about Tourette Syndrome, in addition to supplementary information from the experts.

Straight Talk about Mental Illness

VHS   17 min Created by NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) this video is intended for the high school classroom, to help educate students on mental illness. Included is a two-page brochure with suggestions for class discussion, homework assignments, and facts about mental illness. In the video, a group of teens discuss their thoughts, asks questions, and share their feeling about mental illness. Interspersed throughout the dialogue are vignettes depicting teens of high-school age suffering from the more common types of mental illness: depression, bipolar disorder (manic-depression), and schizophrenia.

the IEP, a parents introduction

VHS     An informative guide for all those unfamiliar with one of the most important components of special education, this video presentation demystifies the IEP process and dispels the concerns many parents have, especially as they fact their first IEP meeting. It includes a reenactment of an actual IEP meeting, with an emphasis on the significant role parents should play in designing an appropriate learning plan for their child. It is also a valuable tool for education professionals and is suitable for inclusion in professional development programs designed to increase awareness of the IEP in special and general education.
